Sébastien Schneiter

Sébastien Schneiter

Schneiter started sailing at the age of 9 on the Optimist on Lake Geneva, and he quickly found his passion for the sport. He collected several National titles, one European Champion title and three World Championship medals in his junior years, in both the Optimist and Laser class. He was twice named ‘Youth Sailor of the Year’.

Schneiter made the jump to the 49er class and the Olympic scene after his junior career. He quickly reached the World Top 10 in the fleet and qualified for two Olympic Games (2016 and 2020). Alongside his Olympic Campaign, Schneiter also sucessfully skippered Team Tilt in various projects, such as winning the D35 Trophy, a 3rd place in the Red Bull Youth America’s Cup, and being crowned GC32 World Champion. Sébastien Schneiter now leads the Switzerland SailGP Team on the water.

Schneiter quickly dedicated his life to sailing after his studies, and in his rare time off he will still be found in the water doing any kind of foiling, or in the swiss moutains skiing and flying with his paraglider.
