Switzerland SailGP Team is part of the next generation of SailGP talent, on a journey that unites ambition, talent and passion. It's led on the water by three time Olympian, Sébastien Schneiter, one of the youngest drivers to compete in the league.
The team started racing its cutting-edge F50 in Bermuda at the start of SailGP Season 3 in May 2022. going head-to-head against some of the most illustrious names in the sport.
The Swiss heads into its third Season with a refreshed line-up and new mindset, bringing together a crew of seasoned Olympians, America’s Cup experience and past SailGP winners. Sebastien Schneiter retains his role as driver and racing alongside are some of SUI’s top sailors; new wing trimmer and flight controller, Arnaud Psarofaghis and Bryan Mettraux, and two-time Olympian, Maud Jayet (strategist). Olympic gold medalist, Matt Gotrel and Season 4 winner, Stewart Dodson complete the line-up as grinders with reserve athletes, Arno de Planta (SUI pathway) and Laurane Mettraux (strategist) supporting.
The team is also racing for purpose. In April 2022 they joined forces with Stiftelsen VI, known as the ‘VI Foundation’, announcing them as main and race for the future partner. VI is a Norwegian based initiative, with global ambitions. VI champions equal opportunities to achieve and is focused on giving disabled people improved quality of life, better health, increased self-esteem, and the opportunity to become more integrated. Sport is at the heart of their operations.
