Goal – to improve foiling skills

Team Tilt began sailing on the GC32 flying catamarans in 2016. This platform allowed the team to improve their skills in flying boats, and to improve their foiling skills in preparation for the Red Bull Youth America’s Cup in Bermuda. Team Tilt Timeline:

2016 – Team Tilt sails the GC32 Racing Tour and improves its the foiling skills. The team wins the Malcesine (ITA) event, and finishes second overall behind Franck Cammas’ team.

2017 – Team Tilt finishes fifth on the first GC32 class championship in Oman. The team led by Sébastien Schneiter finishes second in Riva del Garda (ITA), for the first event of the GC32 Racing Tour.

2018 – Team Tilt is crowned GC32 World Champion. Helmed by Sébastien Schneiter with Glenn Ashby onboard, the team won the first ever GC32 World Championships beating some of the best teams in the world in Riva del Garda, Italy.

2019 – Team Tilt finished second at the GC32 World Championships in Lagos, Portugal, fending off some of the world’s best sailors for the runners up position. The young team was led by Sébastien Schneiter, while Glenn Ashby joined the team for the regatta. Fellow Swiss team, Alinghi claimed the title with INEOS Team UK completing the podium in third place.

2021 – Team Tilt finish the GC32 World Championship, in Villasimius, on the podium again finishing in 3rd place.

2022 – Team Tilt returned to the Racing Tour in 2022 to compete in two back to back events in Lagos, the Lagos Cup and GC32 World Championship. They finished the Worlds 5th.
