Watch the race day two replay here.

SAN FRANCISCO, USA – Sunday 7 May That’s a wrap on the Mubadala SailGP Season 3 Grand Final and SailGP Season 3. It was a challenging final day for the Swiss team, who struggled with its boat speed and performance upwind. After five fleet races on San Francisco Bay this weekend, Swiss SailGP Team finish the event in 7th place and its debut SailGP season 8th overall.

In a nail biting three-team winner takes all showdown, Australia’s Tom Slingsby beat Peter Burling’s New Zealand and Ben Ainslie’s Great Britain to win its third consecutive SailGP Championship title.

Switzerland SailGP Team driver Sébastien Schneiter said: “It’s been a long season with a lot of learnings, and we are all a little disappointed to finish the event and the season how we did today. We couldn’t quite get going upwind and it was a challenging day on the water.

“But yesterday was a really good day for us and we’ve got a lot of positives to take away from this event. There’s been some great starts and we were fighting against the top teams at times.

“We showed some good moments in the league this year and for us next year is all about being consistent and at the top [of the fleet].  It was our first season, and we knew it was going to be hard, but we are already looking forward to getting going again next month.”

Switzerland SailGP Team CEO Tanguy Cariou said: “This year was only the first season in SailGP for the team. It’s been tough and challenging, a little up and down at times but also really fun. We were expecting a better result overall, but we learnt a lot and we know where we need to improve.

“We have put together a good team and are looking forward to starting Season 4 together with new goals and building on the improvements we’ve made here in San Francisco this weekend.”

It’s only five weeks until SailGP Season 4 kicks off with the Rolex United States Sail Grand Prix | Chicago at Navy Pier (16/17 June). Check out the full S4 line up HERE.
