Tricky conditions on day 1 of the GC32 Worlds

24 May 2018    GC32

The typical Garda wind didn’t build up on day 1 of the GC32 World Championship : only two races were sailed. The 13 foiling catamarans fought with very light and shifty wind.

Good start for Team Tilt in the first race, the team led by Sébastien Schneiter was 3rd in the first mark. But after a penalty with SAP, Team Tilt didn’t manage recovering and finished last.

In the second race, Team Tilt finished 7th, while the 3rd one was abandoned short after the start.

Tomorrow, 6 races are scheduled. The first ones should be held in the morning with the northern wind !

Glenn Ashby : « We did a few tactical mistakes, but I’m very confident about the team’s level. Let’s just hope we will be able to sail more races in the next days, to enjoy the typical lake garda conditions ! »
