Team Tilt strong in Palma de Majorca

10 April 2018    49er

The sailors representing Team Tilt showed very good performances at the Trofeo Princesa Sofia in Palma de Majorca (ESP). Held the first week of April, the event welcomed more than 1’200 athletes.

In the Finn class, Nils Theuninck had an excellent week : leading the overall ranking after day 2, he managed staying on top of the fleet until the end. He qualified for the Medal Race and finishes 8th overall, a few days after winning the U23 ranking at the Finn Europeans in Cadiz. “The Medal Race was a bit complicated for me. I lost a few places overall, but I’m happy with my performance this week. I started sailing the Finn only huit months ago, and I’ve made good progresses in a short time !”

8th of the 49er ranking, Sébastien Schneiter and Lucien Cujean showed their ability of sailing in many different conditions. They qualify for the Medal Race, and finish with a good 4th place at this final race. “The Medal Race was difficult, very close to the shore. We took a good start, and are very happy with our result at the end of the week. We were consistent ! This good result confirms our performance in Miami in January.”

Next stop for the Olympic sailors : Hyères World Cup, April 22-29 !
