About

Team Tilt is a sailing team that provides structure and support to young Swiss sailors. The team won the Bol d’Or Mirabaud and the D35 Trophy in 2015 on Lake Geneva, and finished second in the GC32 Racing Tour in 2016. The team is preparing an ambitious campaign in the 49er dinghy. After proudly representing Switzerland in the 49er in Rio in 2016, finishing 13th after only two years on the circuit, Sébastien and Lucien secured Switzerland’s ticket to Tokyo 2020 in the 49er at the 2018 Aarhus Worlds. They finished 14th at the Tokyo Games, held in 2021 due to the pandemic.

GC32 World Champion in 2018 , runner-up in 2019 and 3rd in 2021, Team Tilt represented Switzerland brilliantly at both editions of the Red Bull Youth America’s Cup in 2013 (fourth) and 2017 (third).

The team was created in 2002 on the initiative of Alex Schneiter, who has twice won the Lake Geneva championship for M2 catamarans, the Bol de Vermeil (three times winner of the Bol d’Or in a monohull) and who holds the Ruban Violet record (speed record around Lake Geneva in a monohull).

Motivated by Team Tilt, the Switzerland SailGP Team was presented on 6th of September 2021 in Geneva. The new team will join SailGP, the international championship that brings together the best sailors in the world, from Season 3 starting in May 2022.
